![]() Fly into that system and you'll be instantly attacked. It features a wave of fighters, then a pair or trio of bodyguards and finally the boss, who is hardest to kill and will drop a special weapon. Then, in every sector (several systems), there is a side-quest that will unlock a 'hidden' system, which normally contains an artifact for your ship as well. Also in most sectors there is at least one occupied system, it's under control of a group of pirates. It will be activated when you fly into the pirate nest's vicinity, normally an outpost or a wrecked cruiser. On the stations you can read news bits and hints to where certain pirate gangs have been seen lately. I haven't tried all of them yet, I'm a bounty hunter from my deepest heart Next we have the gangs. There's quite a diversity of things to do- sabotage- spying- pirate hunt- assassination- cargo delivery- cargo recoveryand others. I'm not too far from a story POV yet so I dunno what her later role will be.* Interesting desings for ships/rances/etc.* Nice thought that you really stay with one ship through the entire game - seems a bit more realistic to me and gives it quite some character.I surelly will keep playing this game, very entertaining Once you have her abboard she'll comment between fights. This game would surely benefit from one, especially with those ship customizatin- no in-system map.- no route-planning as in Freelancer.- no price summary for goods(pretty handy in FL)Other thoughts:* that girl you take aboard has a voice. All in all it's very memory consuming, at least on my system.- No MP mode as in Freelancer. Starting the game takes pretty long as well. I liked how Freelancer had a total unique character for a lot of its systems.- GEEZE my memory! Installation took long enough. Also every pirate you shoot earns you money (and bounty hunter reputation)Cons:- Although there's so many systems, they all are rather similar to each other. Additionally there are pirate gangs in some of the sectors that can be cleansed. ![]() Escorting missions are dynamically created by the ships in the vicinity. Far easier than X2/3.+ A large diversity of job types. Nice+ Easy control system for both inflight and on stations. What I have seen so far is that they are comparably filled with life as are X2/3 or Freelancer. I'm not through yet but it said something about 300 systems. However, I like the concept of upgrading your warp system to increase the range you can jump and thus reach systems you couldn't before+ Huge and alive universe. So you can define the character of your ship (fast fighter, heavy gunboat, etc.)+ upgradable equipment: OK, equipment upgrade is what should be expected from a modern space sim. Anyway, here's my thoughts.Pros:+ Upgrade system: you can customize your ship by applying upgrades to certain sections. One might compare it to Freelancer since both games have a rather similar gameplay.
